Any tips for what to include on my tag?

Sure! We've seen a lot of different information put on the backs of our customers' tags, so here's our recommendations to make the most of the space.

On all tags please include at least one phone number. This is the quickest way to contact you if your dog gets found.

On 15mm and 20mm tag sizes space gets really tight, and the more text you add the smaller it will need to be to fit. These sizes work best with one or two phone numbers (but we can include more if desired).

On 25mm and 30mm tags there's more room to breathe, so things like addresses and advising that your pet is chipped can fit well.

Still, if you're worried about using too much space on any of our tag sizes, here's some tips:

  • Try shortening words like "microchipped" to "chipped"
  • Exclude phrases like "please call", "I'm lost", and "If found call"
  • Don't include your own name/s
  • If adding an address, leave off the state and postcode
How long does it take to make my order?

It generally takes us between 1 and 3 business days to create your handmade pet id tag and ship it to you. This may extend slightly during public holidays and the Christmas / New Year season.

How is my order shipped?

For Australian customers - your customised, handmade pet id tag is sent via Australia Post as Parcel Post.

For our US and UK customers, your order will be sent via Australia Post as an Interntional Post Standard parcel.

What if my order doesn't arrive?

The postal service never quite recovered after the pandemic, and things are taking longer than before to be delivered.

If you do not receive your pet id tag don't worry, we won't leave you stranded. We'll work with Australia Post to get your order to you and, after a reasonable time, if they can't get your item to you we'll ship a replacement to you at no additional cost.

Can I change or cancel my order?

So long as we haven't finalised production of your customised id tag we are more than happy to make changes for you or cancel & refund your order.

What materials do you use?

We use 2mm thick, high quality brass, copper and stainless steel in all our tags :)

How do I clean my tag?

If your tag is looking a little dirty as a result of doggy adventures, we recommend cleaning it with a suitable brush and metal polish, then buffing with a jeweler's cloth.

How do I fit the split-ring on the tag and collar?

You can use slight finger force to gently open the split-ring just wide enough to slide through the mounting hole on the tag. Work the tag around until it's fully mounted.

When mounting the tag to your collar it's important you don't open the split-ring too far. If you're adding the tag to a heavy duty d-ring, it's recommended to use a clip such as these carabiners or a larger split-ring which can be bough from most hardware stores.
